For the month of November we are recognizing the subcultural of Hip Hop with our teachers and staff. Hip Hop emerged in the Bronx in the 1979s, so we highlighted Grandmaster Flash and The Sugar Hill Gang, two Hip Hop artist from that time period. The STL Art Museum has a traveling Hip Hop exhibit in November if you’re interested in learning more!
The third grade students enjoyed serving up french fry orders! They were learning multiples of 10 as they worked in small groups to create their orders.
We are so appreciative of Got Your Six Support Dogs for coming and educate our students about therapy dogs! Students had the opportunity to socialize and read stories to Lexi (Golden Retriever) and Kodi (Australian Shepherd).

The sixth grade classes celebrated Día de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, with an ofrenda in Ms. Peña’s class this week. Students brought in photos and food items to honor their loved ones who had passed and celebrate the lives that they lived.
Ms. Pappert’s 5th grade class is learning to block code our robotic Finches. They are so proud of their work!

What is High-Five Fridays? High-Five Fridays are a simple yet impactful initiative where community members are invited to visit our school on Friday mornings to greet and high-five our students as they arrive for the day. This small gesture carries a big message – that our community cares about the success and well-being of our students.
When? High-Five Fridays will take place every Friday morning from 7:40 to 8:10 during our regular school hours.

2nd week of coding club and we are having fun with our Strawbees! We built movable ferris wheels and snakes this week…can’t wait to see what the students deign next week!
Last Saturday the Emge Math Team competed at the Belleville West Feeder School Competition. Cheyenne B, Eden H, Cameron D, and Brittany M all placed individually and 7th grade brought home 3rd place overall!

Illinois Judges Association presents to Harmony Emge in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois, (20th Judicial Circuit) the "Worries of the WWW" on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
"I had the opportunity to present this afternoon the IJA’s presentation of the “Worries of the WWW” to the 6-8th graders @ Harmony Emge located in Belleville, Illinois. There were approximately 150 students and faculty in attendance. The students were engaged and I enjoyed the follow-up discussions I had with a few of the students. I appreciate the kind invitation of Harmony Emge Principal Dr. Terri Kraemer the assistance throughout the presentation by Assistant Principal Allison Rueter.
