Mrs. Nelson’s class worked on their restaurant skills the past few weeks. Today the students had a Thanksgiving restaurant in their class and put their new skills to the test! We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project! We really appreciate it. 🦃

Today Emge Student Council delivered drinks to teachers and staff to thank them for all their hard work! We appreciate everything our teachers do for us! Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

Dear Harmony 175 Families,
It is with a heavy heart to share the news of the passing of a former teacher, Mrs. Barb Knavel. Mrs. Knavel served in our district for 21 years as both a 1st and 4th grade teacher and is leaving a lasting impact on both students and colleagues alike.
During her time with us, Mrs. Knavel demonstrated not only her passion for teaching but also her kindness and compassion towards everyone around her. Her legacy will continue to live on through the countless students she taught and the positive influence she has had on our school community.
We will always remember her fondly and cherish the memories we shared together.

Today Coding Club moved in to Robotic Finches. We spent the opening learning about their basic functions; we added color lights, music notes, and even had races!
School board members are volunteers serving as advocates striving for quality
education opportunities for every student. The members of our board take on this
responsibility not for a paycheck, but for their commitment to our community and its
children.
Today, November 15, is about saying Thank You to the Harmony Emge School District 175 School Board. Our board members spend multiple hours each month on district work, attending meetings, and other responsibilities most will never hear or read about. This is time they could spend with their families and for themselves. I want to personally thank all seven members of the Harmony Emge School District. Board of Education for their service to the district and our students.

STEM club is at it again! We have built moveable snakes, Ferris wheels, ramps, and even coded a moveable crane!

PTO meeting tonight in Emge cafeteria at 6pm, see you there!

We are very proud of our Emge 8th grader Audrey Bauer, who was the Junior High winner of the City of Belleville Veterans Day poster contest. She received a Barnes and Noble gift card as a congratulatory award!💙

For the month of November we are recognizing the subcultural of Hip Hop with our teachers and staff. Hip Hop emerged in the Bronx in the 1979s, so we highlighted Grandmaster Flash and The Sugar Hill Gang, two Hip Hop artist from that time period. The STL Art Museum has a traveling Hip Hop exhibit in November if you’re interested in learning more!
The third grade students enjoyed serving up french fry orders! They were learning multiples of 10 as they worked in small groups to create their orders.

We are so appreciative of Got Your Six Support Dogs for coming and educate our students about therapy dogs! Students had the opportunity to socialize and read stories to Lexi (Golden Retriever) and Kodi (Australian Shepherd).

Thanks to Mrs. Amanda DuClos for demonstrating the flute and piccolo to our 7th grade students today!

The sixth grade classes celebrated Día de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, with an ofrenda in Ms. Peña’s class this week. Students brought in photos and food items to honor their loved ones who had passed and celebrate the lives that they lived.

Ms. Pappert’s 5th grade class is learning to block code our robotic Finches. They are so proud of their work!

Dear Community Member,
At Harmony and Emge, we believe in the power of positivity and fostering strong connections with our local community. That's why we are excited to extend an invitation to all community members to join us for "High-Five Fridays."
What is High-Five Fridays? High-Five Fridays are a simple yet impactful initiative where community members are invited to visit our school on Friday mornings to greet and high-five our students as they arrive for the day.
