Over the past two weeks, Miss Johnson’s second grade class has been learning about the causes and effects of oil spills. Yesterday they constructed foil oil boats and determined which design would hold the most weight!

Eighth graders in Mrs. Jarvis and Mrs. Steigerwald’s math classes learned how to budget for a trip to their favorite location in the US last week! They had to budget for flights, rental cars, food, and attractions. Great job!




On Friday, Mrs. Strubhart‘s 1st grade class learned how to reduce, reuse, and recycle! They had Cheerios that represented tires and then reduced the tires by smashing them down. Once they were reduced in size, they mixed them with some other supplies to form a concrete mixture. Then, they reused their tires to build roads. It was a great way to celebrate Earth Day!




Last week, to celebrate Earth Day, Miss O'Neill and Mr. Dunn's 2nd grade class had so much fun cleaning up and saving the animals from oil spills!
The Harmony 175 Prevention Initiative Families as Partners and Pre-K programs had a wellness event last Thursday at Bicentennial Park. Families enjoyed the beautiful weather, learned about yoga, massage, and healthy sleep, and munched on healthy foods.
Mrs. Crawford's 7th and 8th grade Science classes have been working hard on a fitness trail. Seventh grade labs worked on succession and eighth grade labs worked on distance vs time in various trials set up.




Emge Girl Scout Troop 191 dropped off 2 cases of cookies at Ellis Elementary to donate to local "Hometown Heros." Thank you again for the delicious donation!

Mrs. Klein's Pre-K class had so much fun creating an ocean mural with Ms. Probst! They have been learning about oceans all week!




Miss Johnson’s 2nd grade class started learning about measuring today and decided to take their learning outside!




Miss Clinard's 2nd graders have been working on their big project for Family Learning Night all week. They have been researching ocean animals, writing about them, and then creating their animals for display. Come read about them on Wednesday, April 27th!




Emge Girl Scout Troop 191 is thrilled to be able to donate 4 cases of cookies to Emge and Ellis staff members. Throughout the 2022 cookie campaign, members of the community donated boxes of cookies to the “Hometown Heroes”. The troop is proud to be able to pass these cookies on to our community heroes.

Mrs. Whitman's Kindergarten class made some special deliveries and distributed Earth Day trees.


6th grade has been researching and planning trips to different cities around the world! Here is Ms. McClean’s class working hard on making sure they stay in budget—no overspending here!




Miss Rueter's ELA power hour group had a blast today swatting their way through some phonics practice! After a close match, Team 2 ended up with the win!




Mrs. Bernhardt's 3rd grade class is getting ready for Family Learning Night and doing research on sea turtles.
