Teacher Spotlight is Ms. Lucas!
Message from Ms. Lucas-
Hello! My name is Ms. Lucas. This will be my second year teaching fifth grade at Harmony Intermediate. I grew up in Roxana, Illinois and moved to this area at the very end of 2021. I graduated from Cumberland University, which is near Nashville, Tennessee. I got my degree in Elementary Education and I am currently working on my Master’s of Arts in Education. Working with children has always been my passion and knew teaching was for me. My mom is a teacher so I learned so much from her and saw how impactful this job is. I am excited to get this school year started!

Teacher Spotlight is 2nd Grade Teacher, Ms. Clinard! Thank you for all you do!
Message from Ms. Clinard-
My name is Miss Clinard (soon to be Mrs. Erzen). This will be my 11th year teaching, and my 4th year in second grade at Ellis. I taught first grade prior to this. I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University, but I was born and raised in Belleville. This summer, my daughter and I moved to Maryville with my fiance and his two children. I love teaching because I love seeing the growth of my students over the year, and I love how different each day is in the classroom! I can't wait to meet my new students and their families this year!

Mrs. Fiss is in the spotlight today!
This is my 17th year in education and my 16th working at Harmony Intermediate and Emge Junior High School. I have served as a Junior High ELA Teacher, 5th grade teacher, RtI Coordinator, and Instructional Coach during this time. One of my favorite parts about teaching is that every school year we get a fresh start, a new beginning, and a chance to reach great things when we work hard and commit to improving each and every day. I can't wait to see what we accomplish together this school year!

Shoutout to Kindergarten Teacher, Mrs. Schuster! Thank you for everything you do for the District!
This will be my 13th year teaching and my 8th year at Ellis. I taught Pre-K for 9 years and I’m going into my 4th year in Kindergarten. I also had the privilege of being the Emge Cheer coach for 5 years. I graduated from SIUe with my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Being a teacher was a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I love all things school and children related. I like to have fun with my students and I try to instill the love of school at an early age. I love being at Ellis! We have the best colleagues, families and students. I’m looking forward to having another magical year in Kindergarten and watch my students learn and grow!

Teacher Spotlight today is...Mr. Mark Bauer!
My name is Mark Bauer, and I am currently teaching 5th grade. I am also the district's Athletic Director. If you have any sports questions about our school, I am your guy to help! I have taught 6th grade for 4 years, this will be my 5th year with the 5th grade. All 9 of my years in education have been spent here at Harmony Dist. #175. This was also my school district that I attended while growing up. My wife (Lindsey) and I share three children together (Thomas, Rex, & Lily) that keep me pretty busy and on my toes outside of school. If I am not teaching, or coaching (basketball) I enjoy watching and talking sports with friends and family. I am excited for the new students this year, as well as, the new teams our school forms to compete!
Harmony School District thanks you for everything you do!!
