
Family Learning Night - Thursday, April 25th


Belleville AmeriCorps at Southwestern Illinois College is seeking new AmeriCorps Members to serve as Summer Camp Counselors & Tutors for elementary-aged children this summer for Belleville Public School Districts #118 & #175. Counselors & Tutors will be supervised by, and work closely with veteran educators throughout the summer. The primary responsibilities include tutoring; lesson planning; assisting the teachers in the organization of positive recreational and enrichment activities; organizing activities; and enforcing camp policies and procedures including the discipline policy for the children. AmeriCorps Members gain national service credentials, experience, and professional development, in addition to nearly $7,000 in cash & college money for their two months of service. The application deadline is April 24, 2024.

Mrs. Erzen’s second graders went on an egg hunt today. Inside the eggs, students found two digit math problems that they had to solve using all the strategies they have been learning this month! Some problems had two numbers, three numbers or even four numbers to add together. Great job second grade!

Miss Johnson's class had a class election after reading "Grace for President." Bailey and Oliver were elected as the class presidents for the day. They taught the class about presidents, had students clean their desks, and rewarded students with an art time. Way to go Bailey and Oliver!





On Monday, fourth grade enjoyed “tasting” some new books! They got to try lots of genres!
